Varanasi, Aug. 6 -- The Urban Development Department of Uttar Pradesh has approved the construction of a new six-storey Varanasi Nagar Nigam House building, reflecting the city's rich heritage. A total of Rs.96.99 crore has been sanctioned for the project, with Rs.25.46 crore already released. Varanasi Nagar Nigam will contribute 25% of the total cost. The implementing agency, Construction and Design Services (C&DS), under UP Jal Nigam (Urban), Lucknow, will execute the project in EPC mode, following the Planning Department's guidelines.
