LUCKNOW, Dec. 3 -- The state Cabinet on Tuesday approved the Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Tourism Service Rules, 2025, which lay down the recruitment process, qualifications and service conditions for subordinate tourism personnel. Under the new framework, the Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) will conduct recruitment for officer-level posts, while the Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UPSSSC) will oversee information and field-level appointments, officials said. The newly notified Rules, 2025 replace the earlier regulations governing subordinate tourism posts. With this, the posts of publication officer, assistant district tourism officer, and tourism information officer in the subordinate tourism cadre will now be governed entirely by the updated service rules, they added. The rules define the sanctioned posts for publication officers, deputy/district tourism officers and tourism information officers, and set out detailed provisions regarding qualifications, service conditions, seniority and promotion. According to principal secretary (tourism) Amrit Abhijat, the new Rules, 2025 will ensure an efficient, transparent and modern service structure in the department, thereby strengthening administrative functioning. Tourism minister Jaiveer Singh said the new rules would build a more professional and people-focused tourism cadre across Uttar Pradesh. The Cabinet also paved the way for the establishment of an International Yoga and Wellness Centre on 70.885 hectares in Hariya Kheda village of Baghpat.
