New school promises holistic learning
Lucknow, July 12 -- Lumina Terra, a school that promotes child-led learning, was inaugurated on Friday. The 'sustainable' campus is built from wood and natural materials.
Students will learn in circular dome-like spaces, which aim to promote calm, connection, and balance. Hand-crafted Yurts on the campus are built by craftsman Lee Jingyi from the Mongolian border, a Zome, designed by French artist Michael Feneux, and a children's playground crafted from wood by Olivier Ledoux.
Students here will be taught through 'ALfA' method of Accelerating Learning for All by educationist Sunita Gandhi. Backed by a board of advisors from Finland, India, Norway, and the USA, Lumina Terra brings together diverse global expertise and local wisdom.
Academics are seamlessly integrated with the arts, life skills, well-being, and global citizenship.
Currently, Lumina Terra is open to children aged between 2 and 10 years. It plans to expand into a full K-12 school offering both CBSE and IB curriculum in the future.
Nivedeta Singh, who has been working towards women empowerment for years, was the chief guest at the launch.
