Bahraich, Dec. 21 -- Katarniaghat Wildlife Sanctuary (KWS), located near the Indo-Nepal border in Uttar Pradesh's Terai region, has added a new chapter to its ecotourism journey with the introduction of a new safari route, drawing widespread attention from wildlife lovers and tourists. Until last year, jeep safari facilities were available only in the Katarniaghat Forest Range, covering a stretch of about 22 kilometers. This season, forest authorities have opened a new 35-kilometre safari route in the Nishangara Forest Range, marking a significant expansion of tourism activities inside the sanctuary. The newly introduced route is being seen as a major attraction, as it allows visitors to explore previously inaccessible and undisturbed forest areas. Speaking to the HT, Nishangara range officer Surendra Kumar Srivastava said the new route passes through dense and pristine sal forests, which are found exclusively in this range of the sanctuary.
