New OPD building soon on RMLIMS second campus
LUCKNOW, July 23 -- A seven-storey OPD building will be constructed at the Maternal and Child Referral Hospital of Ram Manohar Lohia Institute of Medical Sciences (RMLIMS), located near Shaheed Path, Dr CM Singh, the director, said on Tuesday.
The facility serves as the second campus of the institute. The new building will house over 12 departments and will be accompanied by a separate block for admission of patients. The hospital's bed capacity will be increased from 750 to 1,000, he added.
Dr Singh said that the new OPD building will include outpatient departments for various specialities, including medicine, dermatology, ophthalmology, mental health, endocrinology, endocrine surgery, general surgery, ENT, and respiratory medicine.
Patient admissions will take place in a separate building adjacent to the OPD block, allowing for smoother movement of doctors, paramedical staff, patients, and attendants between the OPD and inpatient wards, he added.
Dr Singh pointed out that the hospital's bed capacity will increase from 750 to 1,000, with the addition of new wards on the floors vacated by the OPDs.
Emergency services for the departments will also be shifted to the new campus, he said.
According to Dr Singh, the new OPD building and increased bed capacity will improve the hospital's infrastructure and provide better facilities for patients.
The proximity of OPDs and wards will enable efficient patient care and reduce the burden on the hospital staff.
The RMLIMS director said that the proposal for the new OPD building and increased bed capacity has been sent to higher authorities for approval, and the construction is expected to begin soon....
