New initiative aims to teach Constitution basics in madrasas
LUCKNOW, May 10 -- In a move aimed at promoting constitutional awareness, Maulana Kaab Rashidi, legal advisor to Jamiat Ulama-e-Hind (Uttar Pradesh), has authored a book explaining the basics of the Indian Constitution and key laws for madrasa students.
The book seeks to educate students about their fundamental rights and duties, aiming to help them become responsible citizens while preserving the religious character of madrasas. Maulana Rashidi has announced a nationwide campaign to include the book in madrasa curricula across the country.
The initiative will involve outreach to madrasa boards, religious institutions and mosques to facilitate the adoption of the material.
Referring to madrasas' historical contribution to India's freedom struggle, the effort aligns with the New Education Policy (NEP) and ongoing discussions about modernisation within the community. htc...
