New employment policy to include portal and app
Jaipur, May 17 -- The state government is set to launch a new employment policy, featuring a dedicated portal and mobile app, allowing job seekers and employers to connect directly, sparing the youngsters visits to the government employment offices.
Department secretary Samit Sharma said, "We are working on a portal and app that will directly connect job seekers with employers. Along with this, we will also provide career counselling services on the platform. Additionally, information regarding skill development programmes will be made available for those interested."
He added, "Our aim is for this portal to function as a one-stop solution for all types of job seekers and employers."
A senior official aware of the development said, "The upcoming employment policy aims to digitise the job search and hiring process in the state. With the launch of the new portal and app, candidates will be able to register online, and their documents will be automatically verified. Employers can then browse profiles and select candidates based on their requirements."
He added that there is an employment directorate in the state with nearly 2 million job seekers registered there.
"The department organises job fairs and camps, but a lot of efforts need to be taken. To address the issue, the government is now planning to fully digitise the employment process.
As part of the proposed employment policy, a dedicated portal and mobile app will be launched, serving as a direct interface between job seekers and employers, making the process more efficient and accessible," the official added.
On the upcoming employment portal and app, candidates will be able to register using their name, address, Jan Aadhaar, and Aadhaar details, along with information about their educational qualifications.
However, they will not be required to upload documents manually. Instead, the system will automatically fetch and verify the necessary documents from relevant educational boards and universities, thanks to the digitisation of admission and examination data, he said.
The portal will host complete verified profiles of candidates, categorised according to their qualifications. Employers in need of workers can register on the platform, browse candidate profiles, and contact them directly for job opportunities. Additionally, the portal will provide comprehensive updates on government recruitment drives, streamlining access to both public and private employment opportunities, the official said.
Department secretary Sharma said that work is also underway on the state's employment policy, which is expected to be released soon, with the portal and app being an integral part of it. The policy will outline the government's plans and preparedness regarding employment opportunities in both the public and private sectors, as well as initiatives for skill development among the youth in the state, he added....
