Nepalese man, two others held in cheating, kidnapping case
Rudrapur, June 22 -- Police have arrested three people, including a Nepalese national, in connection with a cheating and kidnapping case in Kashipur of US Nagar on Friday night, officers aware of the matter said on Saturday.
Earlier, 32 Nepalese nationals, including three minors, were rescued from a house in Kashipur on Thursday night after a tip-off from a Nepalese NGO's representative, they added. According to police, those who were rescued were brought to Kashipur by three people who made false promises of offering them lucrative jobs. However, they were forced to sell products from door to door. Police handed over the rescued Nepalese to the representative and registered an FIR against the three accused, they added.
Senior superintendent of police, US Nagar, Manikant Mishra said, "Police raided a house in Om Vihar Colony and rescued 32 Nepalese nationals confined in a house. They were brought here on the pretext of providing them with lucrative jobs, but were cheated. The accused have been arrested." htc...
