Meerut, Sept. 14 -- A 38-year-old man was attacked and murdered by neighbours in Amroha's Kajizada locality, late on Friday night. The attackers, reportedly fuelled by an old family dispute, surrounded the victim just 200 metres from his house, stabbed him and then shot him twice in the chest before escaping. The deceased, identified as Faheem Ansari, was on his way to visit his sister's house when the attackers-named as Zakir, Zahid, Wahid, and Shahid, along with 3-4 other accomplices-ambushed him. According to his brother, Ejaz Ansari, the assailants first attacked Faheem with knives, and as he attempted to escape, they fired two bullets into his chest, killing him instantly. Residents quickly informed the family and police. Faheem was rushed to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared him dead. The murder has sent shockwaves through the locality, with residents expressing fear and outrage. Ejaz revealed that the animosity between the families dates back nearly 25 years, when a violent altercation occurred between the two families, resulting in injuries and a police case. "Since that time, Zakir's family has held a grudge against us," he said. Amroha SSP Amit Kumar Anand, confirmed that the murder is linked to an old rivalry.
