PRAYAGRAJ, Dec. 2 -- In the month-long traffic enforcement drive that concluded on Sunday (November 30), Sangam city traffic police issued a staggering 58,963 challans, averaging nearly 1,965 challans per day. The penalties slapped on erring commuters for various violations have crossed Rs 3 crore, officials confirmed. These figures surpass those of last year's when a total of 54,233 challans were issued during the 'Traffic Safety Month' in Prayagraj.
