Bettiah/Patna, Nov. 6 -- Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) Tejashwi Yadav appealed to voters in poll-bound Bihar to bring the Mahagathbandhan to power as he vowed to bring employment opportunities and empower women, further criticising the ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA) over unemployment issues. Addressing rallies in Runni Saidpur, Bajpatti, Kalyanpur, Harsiddihi, Narkatiaganj, Yadav strongly criticised the NDA government led by Nitish Kumar. "They've turned dreams into nightmares - our government will create 1 million jobs in year one, boosting local industries to end migration," he said. "Your phones will ping with appointments, not just selfies." The Opposition chief ministerial face pledged to empower women, promising to provide a year's worth of financial assistance under the Mahagathbandhan's proposed Mai Behan Maan Yojana in a single payment. Under the scheme, the Opposition promised to provide Rs.2,500 every month to women, directly challenging NDA's Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana. "Our government will deposit Rs.30,000 on Makar Sankranti, January 14, to empower mothers and sisters against inflation," he said, further criticising the NDA's scheme to empower women. "Their Rs.10,000 is a loan with interest; ours is pure help." Similarly, Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra slammed the NDA's scheme to help women, describing the Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana as "election bait". Addressing rallies in West Champaran district, Gandhi alleged that the NDA is "indulging in vote theft" to win the elections in Bihar as people in the state are "fed up with its 20-year rule". "NDA will destroy everything... It is not clear whether there will be elections in the future... Why are you silent? Chase them out of power," she said Accusing the NDA of prioritising retaining power in Bihar over addressing the public's needs, she said, "How do you run households amid dwindling farm incomes? Women toil in odd jobs; men migrate for scraps. Public firms sold out to capitalist cronies." Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav, meanwhile, urged voters to back RJD's Tejashwi Yadav and bring the Mahagathbandhan to power. "I would like to urge the people of Bihar to go out, vote in large numbers, vote for jobs and to support the new generation Tejashwi," he said, addressing a rally in Nawada. "Bihar's youth need laptops and jobs, not despair - our Mahagathbandhan will add 200,000 local posts, double irrigation here, mirroring UP successes."...
