NCB seizes 50kg Ganja at Charbagh rly stn, 2 arrested
LUCKNOW, Dec. 20 -- The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), Lucknow, seized 50 kg ganja from two people at Charbagh Railway Station and arrested them under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985, on Thursday, a release shared by NCB on Friday read.
The contraband was recovered from Bhola Sahani, a resident of Vaishali district in Bihar, and Sudama, a resident of Samastipur district in Bihar-at Platform No 4 of Charbagh Railway Station (Northern Railway). The ganja was concealed in 10 small bags.
A case has been registered in connection with the seizure.
Following the recovery and based on the investigation and material available on record, the NCB arrested the two accused under Sections 8, 20 and 29 of the NDPS Act.
Preliminary inquiry revealed that the source of the seized ganja was Bihar and that it was being transported to Ludhiana in Punjab. Investigators said the consignment was allegedly supplied by Pankaj Kumar Sahani, a resident of Vaishali district, Bihar, who was also expected to receive the contraband in Ludhiana for further delivery to the final receiver.
The Narcotics Control Bureau said further investigation is underway, particularly to trace the supplier and receiver ends of the narcotics network involved in the case....
