Lucknow, July 10 -- A nautanki, Chanda Bedni, revolving around love affected by political conspiracies and depicting the tragedies of love amidst casteism and social hierarchy, was staged at the UP Sangeet Natak Akademi after a month-long theatre workshop organised by Bhartendu Natya Academy (BNA) on Wednesday. It revolved around the conflict between simplicity and conspiracy, in which the simplicity of love is crushed by the political system and social evils. Bedni not only entertains by dancing and singing, but when the time comes, she sacrifices everything and dies. The key roles of Chanda and Lakhan were played by Kaustubhi Sharma and Ankur Mishra, respectively....
