Lucknow, Aug. 12 -- National Deworming Day was observed in Lucknow on Monday at Thakurganj Das Inter College, where children aged 1 to 19 were given Albendazole tablets to fight worm infections. The event was launched by MLC Mukesh Sharma, who said healthy children are the country's future. About 21.51 lakh children are targeted under the campaign, which runs twice a year. It covers schools, Anganwadi centres, brick kilns, and migrant populations.Deworming helps improve nutrition, reduce anaemia, and prevent infections. A mop-up round will be held on 14 August for children who missed the dose. The event was also held at CHCs citywide.
