Lucknow, July 29 -- The Uttar Pradesh government has approved 28 new development projects worth Rs 90 crore to improve the Naimisharanya region. These projects aim to make the area more comfortable for pilgrims, revive its rich culture, and help the local economy grow. Announced by minister of tourism and culture, Jaiveer Singh, the projects are planned for the 2025-26 financial year. They are expected to benefit thousands of pilgrims who visit Sitapur's famous spiritual places every year. In addition to work in Naimisharanya, villages like Pipri and Loknapur will also see civic upgrades. Statues of Dr BR Ambedkar in these areas will be surrounded by better roads, lighting, and other public services. The heart of the plan is to improve the pilgrim experience. A new Tourism facilitation centre will be built. Heritage-style entry gates will be added along the Lucknow-Sitapur highway. Roads and junctions in Mishrikh will also be beautified and upgraded. Religious corridors will be developed to connect important sites such as Lalitadevi Temple, Chakrateerth, and Rajghat. Existing dharamshalas will be turned into Pilgrim Interpretation Centres. These centres will offer cultural stories, history, and travel help for visitors. To make travel safer and more comfortable, solar-powered heritage lights will be installed on roads leading to temples. The plan also includes improvements to smaller, lesser-known religious spots. Principal secretary for tourism, Mukesh Meshram, said, "This is not only about religious revival, but also about giving a boost to the economy. These developments will create jobs in tourism, transport, and small businesses while protecting our ancient heritage."...
