Muslim community being deliberately misled on Waqf law: Min Ravindra Jaiswal
VARANASI, May 2 -- Accusing the opposition parties of spreading confusion over Waqf Amendment Act, Uttar Pradesh minister of state (independent charge) for stamp, court fee and registration Ravindra Jaiswal said that the Muslim community is being deliberately misled regarding the Waqf law. He claimed that the rights of Muslims are not being taken away by this law, rather this law is in the interest of all communities and through this there will be inclusive development.
The BJP is working on the policy of 'Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas' and Muslims are also citizens of India, and their development is equally important, he added.
Addressing a press conference, Jaiswal said, "The Waqf Amendment Act 2025 passed in the Parliament will prove to be a milestone in the economic and social empowerment of the weaker sections of the country, especially the poor and women of the Muslim community. He accused the opposition parties that parties like Congress, SP, Trinamool Congress, Rashtriya Janata Dal are spreading confusion in the country in opposition to this historic Act, because they have not been able to rise above the politics of appeasement and vote bank." He said that the Congress implemented the Waqf law for doing the politics of appeasement, but now the BJP government is improving it so that no property can be declared as Waqf without a clear basis. He said that lakhs of acres of land coming under the Waqf Board will now be used for public works like hospitals, schools and housing, which will benefit all communities.
He added that till now the Muslim community gets 33 percent of the benefits of the central and state government schemes, but in the field of education this community is lagging by 90 percent. This gap needs to be filled.
He further claimed that the BJP is the true advocate of the rights of the poor, opposition parties are spreading confusion....
