Museum after Munshi Nawal Kishore to come up at Amir-ud-daula library
LUCKNOW, Aug. 13 -- A museum will be built at Amir-ud-daula library located in Qaiserbagh in the name of country's well-known publisher Munshi Nawal Kishore. The contract for building the museum has been given by the Lucknow Development Authority to the Karabi Art Institute.
Divisional commissioner Roshan Jacob gave this information on Tuesday as she inspected the library, Begum Hazrat Mahal Park and the Globe Park. She directed that the museum should be designed in a heritage look, so that people can connect with this heritage of the city. Sculptures, old printing machines, old records, costumes and other vintage items will be preserved in the museum.
An interactive display unit will be installed in the museum through which informative information will be given to the people. Directives were also issued to send a proposal to the government to develop the library on the lines of the State Central Library.
Munshi Nawal Kishore (1836-1895) established a printing press in Lucknow in 1858 when he was just 22. In his lifetime, he published more than 5,000 books in Hindi, Arabic, Bengali, Urdu, Marathi, Punjabi, English and Sanskrit....
