Jabalpur, Dec. 28 -- A clerk at Jabalpur's Jawaharlal Nehru Agricultural University has been arrested for allegedly raping a 22-year-old woman on the pretext of providing her a job at the institute, police said on Saturday. The accused, identified as upper division clerk (UDC) Durgashankar Singraha (58), allegedly raped the woman in the government quarters of a peon at the campus on December 25. The peon, identified as Mukesh Sen (42), has also been arrested. According to ASP Jitendra Kumar, the woman, a resident of Tilwara in Jabalpur, learned through social media that some jobs were available on a contractual basis at the university. "She obtained a number from the university's website and called. The call was answered by UDC Durgashankar Singraha.
