Gorakhpur, Aug. 26 -- The eviction of the bungalow and memorial of former Samajwadi Party MLA late Kedar Nath Singh led to clashes on Monday. A revenue team, backed by heavy police force, reached Park Road in Golghar to execute the court-ordered eviction, triggering protests from SP workers and members of the Sainthwar community. The situation escalated into stone-pelting and traffic blockades for nearly four hours. Police used mild lathi charge to disperse the mob and arrested over three dozen people. Officials, including ADM City Anjani Kumar Singh, confirmed the action was as per court directives. The bungalow and one-acre campus have been declared freehold in favour of businessman Om Jalan. SP workers staged a sit-in. Community leader Krishna Bhan Singh alleged the property was leased for 99 years to Kedar Nath Singh and claimed fraudulent papers were being used to claim ownership. htc...
