MEERUT, May 9 -- A mother-daughter duo from Bareilly was killed when a helicopter on way to the Gangotri temple crashed near Gangnani in Uttarkashi district on Thursday. A total of six people, including the pilot were killed, officials said. The chopper was carrying seven people including one pilot on board, informed Garhwal divisional commissioner Vinay Shankar Pandey. The mother-daughter duo has been identified as 79-year-old Radha Agrawal and her daughter 56-year-old Ruchi Agrawal, residents of Alamagiriganj, Bareilly. The local police in Bareilly visited the residence of the deceased in Bareilly to inform the family of the tragedy. As per the information, Radha Agrawal had been living in Mumbai with her daughter Ruchi since the passing of her husband, Ramchandra Agrawal, in 2022. Radha Agrawal's nephew, Umang Agrawal, confirmed the deaths and stated that the family was informed about the accident by the Kotwali police station.
