MoS Bandi Sanjay seeks CBI probe
Hyderabad, Aug. 9 -- Union minister of state for home and former Telangana BJP president Bandi Sanjay Kumar on Friday demanded that the state government hand over probe into the alleged illegal phone tapping during the previous BRS regime to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). Speaking to reporters before meeting the officers of the Special Investigation Team (SIT) to record his statement as a witness in the phone tapping case, he said he does not have "trust" in the probe by the SIT. His personal staff - Pasunooru Madhu, Boyinipalli Praveen Rao, and Pogula Tirupathi also deposed before the SIT separately.
The minister said the SIT questioned him for nearly 45 minutes and recorded his statement."Along with me, the phones of chief minister Revanth Reddy, Harish Rao, and several former ministers and BRS MLAs were also tapped. KCR even tapped the phones of his daughter Kavitha and son-in-law," Sanjay said. Claiming a nexus between the Congress and BRS, he said the Congress government appointed inquiry commissions over allegations into various issues during the BRS regime but has not taken action.
Reacting to the incident, Telangana PCC working president T Jagga Reddy, "The BJP leaders always look for some issue to sling mud on the Congress; and try to blackmail us. We ignore their demands."...
