Lucknow, Sept. 8 -- UP will experience less rainfall in days to come due to reduction in monsoon activity in the absence of any effective weather system in the state. "The low pressure area formed over the northwest Bay of Bengal moved through Central India towards western India and strengthened over southern Rajasthan. The monsoon trough moved south from its normal position and as a result of this, there was no active weather system in the state," said Atul Kumar Singh, senior scientist at Lucknow Met office. "There has been no effective rainfall in most parts of the state for the last two to three days. However, due to atmospheric instability caused by the increase in radiation heating as the day progressed due to the effect of residual atmospheric humidity coming from the Bay of Bengal, sporadic rainfall activities with thunderstorms are continuing at some places," he said. During the next two to three days, monsoon activities are likely to remain weak in the state without any significant change, with sporadic rainfall continuing at isolated/some places and humidity due to temperatures being higher than normal. Thereafter, due to weakening of this depression and northward movement of monsoon trough, intensity of rainfall is likely to increase in the northern parts of the state, he said. During September 11 to 13, some districts of Terai region are likely to receive heavy rainfall while in other parts of the state monsoon is likely to remain restricted to sporadic rainfall. Forecast for Lucknow is partly cloudy sky with possibility of thunder development and one or two spells of rain or thundershower. The maximum and minimum temperature will be around 35 and 27 degrees Celsius respectively. On Monday, maximum and minimum temperatures in the state capital were recorded at 35.7 and 26.6 degrees Celsius respectively. The state forecast is rain/thundershower very likely at isolated places over West UP and at a few places over East UP....
