PRAYAGRAJ, July 5 -- In a key safety exercise, chief commissioner of railway safety (CCRS) Janak Kumar Garg conducted a detailed inspection of the Rambagh-Jhunsi rail bridge on Friday. The bridge, constructed over the Ganga in preparation for Mahakumbh 2025, underwent its first monsoon inspection, aimed at assessing its structural strength and resilience under potential flood conditions, officials said. As part of the inspection, a speed trial was conducted using a special train operating at a maximum speed of 70 km/h. The purpose was to evaluate the bridge's structural performance and technical integrity. Officials confirmed that the trial was successful, with the bridge performing optimally under test conditions. The Rambagh-Jhunsi rail bridge was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi as a key infrastructure project for Mahakumbh 2025. With this being the first monsoon since the bridge became operational, the comprehensive safety review was considered essential. CCRS Janak Kumar Garg was joined in Prayagraj by DRM of the NER's Varanasi Division, Vineet Kumar Srivastava, along with others. htc...
