Monkeys attack madrasa students in Kaushambi, 8 injured
PRAYAGRAJ, June 5 -- A troop of monkeys attacked students in a madrasa, located in Syed Sarawan village of Chail tehsil, in Kaushambi district, on Wednesday. The madrasa staff managed to chase away the monkeys.
Around eight students sustained wounds on their hands and legs in the attack. The injured students are being treated at the community health centre at Chail, officials said.
According to reports, the students were coming out of their classroom after studying on Wednesday morning when the attack took place. Madrasa manager, Abu Saeed, said that as soon as the students came out of the class, a herd of monkeys attacked them. Due to the attack, students including Ghulam Rasool, Inam Ullah, Nazis, Sahil, Sameer, Abdul Rehman, Bismil Ahmed and Mohd Gulfam sustained injuries.
On hearing the students' screams, the madrasa employees rushed to their aid and chased away the monkeys and took the injured students to CHC-Chail where the doctors treated them.
Confirming the incident, Dr Muktesh Dwivedi, superintendent of CHC-Chail said that the students have been discharged after the treatment.
"In summer, dogs and monkeys often become aggressive and attack. In case of monkey or dog bite, the injured must be given anti-rabies injection within 24 hours," he said....
