Modi, Albanese vow to bolster global fight against terror
new delhi, Nov. 22 -- India and Australia on Friday committed to strengthen the global fight against terrorism and discussed ways to deepen bilateral cooperation across a range of areas including defence and security, trade and energy, during a meeting between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Australian counterpart Anthony Albanese on the sidelines of the G20 Summit.
"During our talks today, emphasised three key sectors, defence and security, nuclear energy and trade, where there is immense potential for ties to grow further. The other sectors discussed included education, cultural exchanges and more," Modi said in a post on X.
Albanese offered his solidarity on the 10/11 Red Fort terror attack in Delhi. "From trade, defence and security to education and clean energy our relationship is fundamentally important. Wonderful to catch up with my friend Prime Minister Modi ahead of the G20 Summit," he wrote on X.
"The two leaders discussed strengthening bilateral cooperation across a wide range of areas including political and strategic, defence and security, energy, trade and investment, critical minerals, technology, mobility, education and people-to-people linkages. The Prime Ministers also exchanged views on regional and global issues of mutual interest," the India ministry of external affairs said.
The meeting came a day after external affairs minister S Jaishankar and Australian foreign minister Penny Wong met in Delhi for the 16th India-Australia Foreign Ministers' Framework Dialogue....
