Model cow centres to be set up in each division
Lucknow, July 21 -- The Uttar Pradesh government will establish model cow centres in every division, starting with eight self-reliant gaushalas in Ayodhya, Varanasi, Gorakhpur, Chitrakoot, Bareilly, Agra, Kanpur, and Jhansi.
"One gaushala and one block from each division will be developed as a model cluster under CM Yogi Adityanath's Gram Urja Model, promoting cow-based natural farming and rural empowerment," a government spokesperson said here on Sunday.
The state's first model gaushala - Khangwa Shyam Srishti Mangalam Gaushala in Bareilly division's Majhgawan block - will adopt interlocked, waste-free shed designs to minimise fodder wastage. The initiative aims to strengthen the rural economy, empower women through SHGs linked with gaushalas, and promote natural farming to reduce chemical fertiliser use.
