MLNMC to host prestigious Alumni CME and Orations-2025
PRAYAGRAJ, Oct. 11 -- Moti Lal Nehru Medical College (MLNMC), Prayagraj, in collaboration with its Alumni Welfare Association and the department of surgery, will host the alumni continuing medical education (CME) and Prestigious Orations-2025 on Saturday.
The academic conclave will bring together renowned doctors from across India and abroad, who will share their research, experiences and insights benefitting both the medical fraternity and the general public. The highlight of the evening will be the Alumni Orations, featuring four prestigious memorial lectures, informed MLNMC officials here on Friday:
Prof SP Singh, record-holding ophthalmic surgeon and former principal of MLNMC, will deliver the Prof DB Chandra Oration on "Precision, Prediction and Perfection in Cataract Surgery." While Prof Ajai Khanna, leading transplant surgeon at the University of Pittsburgh, USA, will deliver the Prof Pritam Das Oration on "Multi Organ Transplantation." Prof Khanna is credited with performing record multi-organ transplants, including simultaneous liver, pancreas and kidney transplants in the United States.
Prof Probal Neogi, international affairs convener and former national president of the Association of Surgeons of India, will deliver the Prof. RK Agrawal Oration on "Vanishing Touch: The Erosion of Clinical Examination." Dr Kushal Mittal, internationally acclaimed senior surgeon from Mumbai, will deliver the Prof. SR Singh Oration on "Decoding Yourself."
Speaking about the event, Dr Jyoti Bhushan, president of the Alumni Association said the programme reflects the glorious traditions of the college and its commitment to academic excellence. Dr Sharad Jain (convener) emphasised that the confluence of alumni and current students will strengthen the institution's identity. Dr Mohit Jain, vice-principal, MLNMC said that the CME will provide young doctors with new perspectives and the opportunity to learn from eminent surgeons.
Dr Vaibhav Srivastava, head of MLNMC surgery department added that the day will begin at 9am with the Surgeons' Reunion 2025, where former students of the department will revisit their alma mater, share experiences, and rekindle old memories. The reunion, he said, will act as a bridge between past and present generations and further enrich the department's legacy....
