MLA boycotts meet chaired by Rahul, puts forth five posers
LUCKNOW, Sept. 12 -- A meeting of the District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA) which was chaired by the leader of opposition, Rahul Gandhi, in Rae Bareli, on Thursday, was boycotted by the MLA from Unchahaar, Manoj Pandey, over the alleged derogatory language used for PM's mother, on August 27, in Bihar.
Pandey said he had submitted a written proposal to the Leader of the Lok Sabha and all present, requesting they condemn the insult to the Prime Minister's mother. He claimed that he raised the issue but as his proposal wasn't taken up, he protested with a boycott.
"The mother of the prime minister was addressed with derogatory words at the Congress event. But for those who have insulted Mother India, such an act is not a big deal," said Pandey.
The DISHA meeting is chaired by the senior-most MP of the district. It is held every quarter to discuss development projects in the region. Gandhi, who is on a two-day visit to his Parliamentary constituency, chaired the meeting in the auditorium at the collectorate.
Addressing the media, Pandey shared five questions for Rahul Gandhi.

"Did you (Rahul Gandhi) apologise to the Election Commission and the public after this?" said Pandey, an expelled Samajwadi Party leader.
Thirdly, he demanded proof of work done in Rae Bareli, in the last one and a half years, on behalf of the 25 lakh people who elected him as an MP.
Fourthly, evidence is demanded from the Election Commission, and even the army. "Is this not an insult to the highest institutions? Have you ever apologised for this?"
Finally, Pandey asked, "You call Veer Savarkar "Maafi Veer". You yourself have apologised twice in court. Is this correct or not? We hope that Rahul Gandhi will definitely answer these questions," said Pandey.
Several public representatives, including Amethi MP K L Sharma and minister of state Dinesh Pratap Singh were present in the meeting....
