LUCKNOW, Oct. 6 -- A part of Mission Shakti 5.0 initiative, the Anti-Romeo Squad has emerged as a symbol of women's safety and respect in the state, state government officials said in a press release on Sunday. Officials said the Anti-Romeo Squad conducted inspections at 1,08,292 public places, including temples, markets, malls, and parks, and checked 9,77,269 individuals. A total of 2,542 FIRs were registered and 3,972 people were arrested for anti-social behaviour during the campaign, while 53,237 preventive actions were carried out across the state and 3,13,924 people issued warnings and counselled on maintaining discipline in public spaces, they added. Women's chaupals were organised at 39,911 temples, other religious sites, fairs, other public venues, drawing 20,54,308 participants, including 13,53,903 women and 7,00,405 men, according to the release.
