She looked quite distraught. She asked for my mobile phone to call her house (her kin). I told her to sit in a chair and gave her my mobile. Then she made a call to her kin... Thereafter, she returned my mobile and kept sitting at the dhaba." A police officer said that the woman requested the dhaba operator to give her his mobile after which she spoke to her family. Thereafter, they informed Madhya Pradesh police about Sonam's presence at the dhaba. Sonam's brother Govind Singh tried to meet her in Ghazipur and sought permission from the police on Monday evening. But permission was not granted. He said, "I have not slept for the last 17 days. I have been waking up for the last 17 days. ....I was searching for my sister. Along with the Meghalaya police, we searched for her throughout Meghalaya." Superintendent of police, Ghazipur, Iraj Raza said, "Madhya Pradesh Police this morning (Monday morning) informed that a woman named Sonam is present at the Kashi Dhaba along Varanasi-Gorakhpur highway in the Nandganj police station area in Ghazipur district. Taking cognizance of the information, a police team led by station officer Nandganj reached the dhaba, recovered her and rushed the woman to Ghazipur district hospital where she was treated. Later, she was shifted to the one-stop centre in Ghazipur. She is there at present." The SP also said, "Some information has come to the fore about the matter. We are constantly in touch with Madhya Pradesh and Meghalaya police. A Meghalaya police team will soon reach here. Thereafter, Sonam will be handed over to them. Further legal action will be taken by Meghalaya police." "Her health is fine," the SP said and added, "We will provide whatever support the Meghalaya Police requires." Additional director general of police, Varanasi, Piyush Mordia said, "As far as police know, the woman herself reached the dhaba. How did she reach the dhaba, she didn't say anything regarding that." "She only said that she had a fever and, thereafter, she kept quiet," the ADG said, adding that she was not questioned by local police (Ghazipur police). He added, "The case is registered in Meghalaya. The Meghalaya police is investigating the case. As soon as the team of Meghalaya police arrives, Sonam will be handed over to Meghalaya police." According to reports, Meghalaya police arrested three people from Madhya Pradesh and one from Uttar Pradesh for Raja Raghuvanshi's murder.
