Agra, June 26 -- A woman and three others were arrested for trafficking and forcing a 9-year-old girl into prostitution. The woman had posed as the child's mother after buying her for Rs.60,000 from a gang in Rajasthan. The girl was rescued on June 22 near Gwalior Sewla Road after a local activist alerted police. A case has been filed under gang rape, POCSO, and trafficking laws. Police said the girl was tortured and exploited, and at least nine people are involved. Investigation is ongoing. The press statement issued by media cell of Agra police stated that the girl named Mohit, Dilip and Sohil for being involved in her sorry state of affairs. The Sadar police in Agra registered a case no. 350 of 2025 under section 70 (2) (gang rape) of Bhartiya Nyayay Sanhita, relevant section of POCSO Act and Immoral Trafick Prevention Act....
