PRAYAGRAJ, May 22 -- A minor boy drowned while bathing in Tons river near Benipur Deeh under Kaundhiara police station area in trans-Yamuna region of the district on Wednesday morning. The deceased has been identified as Ankit Nishad (7), son of Sanjay Nishad and resident of Benipur Deeh village of the area, police said. As per the police, villagers informed that Ankit along with Ansh Nishad (10), son of Rajkumar Nishad, were bathing at a kutcha ghat of Tons river near the village. While playing, both of them ventured into deep waters and started drowning. Alerted by passers-by, family members and villagers immediately reached the spot and started searching for two children. They managed to find both the boys and rushed them to a nearby private hospital where the doctors declared Ankit dead. Ansh is undergoing treatment. After getting information, the police team reached the site, but the family members of the deceased boy refused a postmortem examination, said SHO of Kaundhiara police station Kuldeep Sharma....
