Migrant zone of B'khand records lowest deletions
Lucknow, Jan. 7 -- The districts of Uttar Pradesh's Bundelkhand region, known as the migration zone, witnessed the lowest deletion of voters in the draft electoral rolls published by the Election Commission on Tuesday.
Among the 75 districts of UP, Lalitpur in Bundelkhand, considered one of the most backward districts, saw a deletion of mere 9.95% voters followed by other districts of the region, including Hamirpur 10.78%, Mahoba 12.4%, Banda 13%, Chitrakoot 13.67%, Jhansi 13.92% and Jalaun 16.34%.
The percentage of permanently shifted voters is the lowest in Hamirpur 4.50%, Mahoba 5.16%, Lalitpur 5.45%, Banda 5.78%, Chitrakoot 6.22%, Jhansi 6.92% and Jalaun 7.18 %.
In East UP, Ghazipur district saw the deletion of 13.85 % voters and Ambedkarnagar 13.82%. In West UP, the minimum deletions were seen in Amroha 13.22% and Pilibhit 13.61%.
Sambhal district saw deletion of 20.29 % voters in the draft electoral rolls. While 1.23 lakh (7.86%) voters have permanently shifted from the district, 23,348 (1.49%) voters have not submitted their enumeration forms and 80,109 (5.10 %) voters remained untraceable/ absent in the district during the SIR process....
