LUCKNOW, July 11 -- A sudden road cave-in near the UP state road transport corporation office on MG Marg on Wednesday alarmed commuters and raised concerns over recurring road cave-ins. Located on a stretch maintained by the public works department, the depression was around 2.5 feet deep and wide, enough to pose a risk to two-wheelers. The UP Jal Nigam responded swiftly by barricading the site after receiving information. Executive engineer Athar Qadri of the Jal Nigam said the cave-in appeared beside a sewer chamber due to water leakage, allegedly triggered by underground cable wires.
