Meet draws Rs.2,267.42-cr investment proposals
LUCKNOW, April 17 -- In a major push to boost Uttar Pradesh's poultry sector, the animal husbandry department organised the first-ever "Uttar Pradesh Poultry Conclave 2026" on Thursday in collaboration with Poultry India, securing investment proposals worth Rs.2,267.42 crore through memorandum of undertakings (MoUs) signed with 36 investors. Held at the Indira Gandhi Pratishthan in Gomti Nagar, the conclave was projected as a key initiative to transform the state into an emerging poultry hub.
The investors' summit session was inaugurated in the presence of Manoj Kumar Singh, former chief secretary of UP and chief executive officer of the State Transformation Commission. Distinguished guests included Sanjay Bhoosreddy, retired IAS and Chairman of UP RERA; and Mukesh Meshram, additional chief secretary, animal husbandry and dairy development.
Speaking at the event, Devendra Kumar Pandey, special secretary, animal husbandry, said the conclave witnessed participation from senior representatives, including Mukesh Bahadur Singh of the Indo-American Chamber, as well as members from CII, FICCI, ASSOCHAM and IIA, along with many farmers and entrepreneurs.
Officials said the conclave focused on the latest technologies, sectoral challenges, innovation and growth opportunities. Experts also discussed measures to address the shortage in egg production and ways to develop Uttar Pradesh into an export-oriented poultry destination.
Participants were briefed on government schemes, financial assistance and the Uttar Pradesh Poultry Development Policy, 2022, which aims to accelerate sectoral growth and make the state self-reliant in egg production.
