MDMA trafficking: Actor held in Mumbai after year-long hunt
LUCKNOW, Dec. 15 -- The Uttar Pradesh Anti-Narcotics Task Force has arrested an alleged MDMA trafficker who had previously worked as a supporting actor in films and web series, including 'The Family Man', senior police officials said on Sunday.
The accused was arrested in Mumbai after remaining absconding for nearly a year.
The accused has been identified as Man Singh, a resident of JJ Colony, Indrapuri, Delhi.
He was arrested on December 11, 2025, from a residential building in the Malvani area of Mumbai and later brought to Agra, where further legal proceedings are underway, the ANTF said.
The arrest was carried out by the ANTF Unit, Agra, as part of an ongoing drive against drug trafficking.
The accused was arrested in connection with a case registered in 2024 under Sections 8, 21 and 29 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act at New Agra police station.
During questioning, the accused told investigators that he moved to Mumbai in 2008 to pursue a career in the film industry. He reportedly worked in minor roles in several films and web series, including 'The Family Man'. Police said that during this period, he allegedly came into contact with people involved in drug trafficking and later became part of an MDMA supply network.
According to investigators, the accused admitted to delivering MDMA on multiple occasions, along with associates, to another person in Agra. Police said efforts are on to trace the wider network and possible inter-state links connected to the case.
