LUCKNOW, Sept. 2 -- Deputy chief minister Keshav Prasad Maurya on Monday held a Janata Darshan at his official residence here, where he interacted directly with people from across Uttar Pradesh and assured prompt action on their grievances. Maurya said the people of the state are his "family" and resolving their problems in a fair and timely manner is the government's responsibility. "Every pain of the people is my own pain," he said, wadding that events like Janata Darshan were an effective medium of communication between citizens and the government. People from different districts and walks, including farmers, women, senior citizens, and traders, raised their issues ranging from land disputes, pensions, housing, roads, electricity, and employment to social welfare schemes. Maurya directed officials to act promptly and not harass complainants at any stage.
