Mathura tragedy: Concerted action plan drafted to prevent accidents during fog
Agra, Dec. 25 -- Almost a week after the tragic incident of vehicle pile-up and fire which caused the death of 19 people on the Yamuna Expressway in Mathura, a concerted action plan has been prepared to prevent road accidents during days of fog. ADG Agra Zone Anupam Kulshrestha attended the meet organised in Mathura on Wednesday with organisations concerned.
The joint meeting held at Mant Toll Plaza in Mathura, was presided over by Kulshrestha. Later, interacting with the media, ADG Agra Zone said, "The meeting of all departments was held in compliance with the directions by chief minister Yogi Adityanath. These departments placed their viewpoints and a 'Concerted Action Plan' has been drafted to avert any accident," stated Kulshrestha.
"The stress is on triple e - emergency, education and engineering in tackling black spots. Focus was also on equipment getting worn out and stress was on timely replacement, repair and regular monitoring," stated ADG Agra Zone. The meeting was attended by DIG Agra Range Shailesh Kumar Pandey, DIG Aligarh Range Prabhakar Chaudhary, DM Mathura CP Singh, SSP Mathura Shlok Kumar, SSP Aligarh Neeraj Kumar Jadaun, SP Rural at Mathura Suresh Chandra Rawat, SP Traffic, SDM Mant beside other officials. Meanwhile, out of 15 remains subjected to DNA sampling for identification, samples were matched of 12 cases. Eleven of the family members took the remains, said SP (rural) Mathura, Suresh Chandra Rawat. "Three samples have been sent to Lucknow for Mitochondrial DNA test," added Rawat....
