LUCKNOW, April 15 -- Mathura Braj Star lifted the winner's trophy for the inaugural season of the 'Tata Capital UP Pro Handball League' in a thrilling action-packed contest, defeating Gorakhpur Rowdies 44-38, at the Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee Multipurpose Hall here on Tuesday. From the very start of the match, both sides launched relentless attacks on each other's goalposts. At the end of the first half, the teams were tied at 21-21. In the second half, Mathura Braj Star adopted a revised strategy as their players displayed remarkable agility, turning the tide of the match in their favor to clinch the final victory. The hero of Mathura's victory was international player Rohitash, who scored a match-winning 14 goals. He was awarded the 'Most Valuable Player' title. Another international player Ravi provided excellent support by netting 11 goals. Additionally, Icon Player Nihal scored eight goals, Yahya scored six, Shiva scored three, and Surya scored two. For the losing side, Shuja and Krishna were the top scorers, netting 10 goals each. Deepak scored five goals, Sunil and Pawan scored four each, and Happy scored three.
