Many injured as bus overturns
LUCKNOW, May 10 -- Multiple people, including two children, were injured in an accident on Friday afternoon when a roadways bus lost control in the Banthra area, ramming into multiple vehicles before crashing into a shop and overturning on Friday.
According to officials, the steering of the Uttar Pradesh Roadways bus failed near the Junabganj Tiraha in the Banthra area.
The bus, headed from Charbagh to Kanpur with 25 passengers on board, began swerving uncontrollably, colliding with a parked DCM truck. Following the initial impact, the bus crashed into more vehicles. The momentum carried the bus into Balaji Electronics Shop, where it finally overturned.
"All the injured were rushed to a nearby private hospital for treatment. Most passengers were en route to Kanpur when the mishap occurred. Authorities are currently investigating the cause of the steering failure and whether there was any negligence in vehicle maintenance or operation. Initial findings suggest mechanical failure, but further technical inspection is underway," said IP Singh, ACP, Traffic....
