LUCKNOW, Jan. 6 -- The 25-year-old man who fled with jewellery worth thousands of rupees from a shop in Jankipuram area was arrested on Monday, police said. According to inspector Vinod Tiwari, the accused arrived on a motorcycle and pretended to be a customer. He asked the shopkeeper to show him rings and, after expressing dissatisfaction with the designs, requested to see more. Seizing the opportunity, he grabbed two boxes containing about 21 rings and escaped. CCTV footage from inside the shop went viral on Sunday. Acting on the footage, police arrested the accused near Ankuram Kids School on the Tiwari Puram-Kotwa road on Monday morning. He was identified as Sumit Mishra (25) from Kamlaabad Barouli in Jankipuram and works for a private firm. Police recovered 19 rings and Rs.20,000 in cash from his possession. htc...
