PRAYAGRAJ, July 19 -- Upset over no action being initiated on his complaint, a man sprinkled petrol on his body in Meja Tehsil headquarters in Prayagraj and tried to set himself on fire. Tehsil staff and advocates stopped the man from lighting the match and brought him to the office of SDM where the official assured him that action would be taken. SDM (Meja) Surendra Pratap Yadav sent a team of revenue department to get the land of the complainant freed from illegal occupants. The complainant who had come from Deori village under Karchhana police station had submitted a complaint in tehsil about some people having forcefully occupied his land. To get this land freed from illegal occupants, the complainant had visited the tehsil several times but nothing was done in the matter. The SDM said naib tehsildar Rajendra Singh had been sent to the village to assess the truth in the complaint after which action would be initiated....
