Man touches high-tension wire at Charbagh stn, dies
LUCKNOW, June 24 -- An unidentified man died after he came into contact with a high-tension overhead wire at the Charbagh railway station (NR) on Monday evening, police said. As per eyewitnesses, the incident occurred when the man suddenly climbed onto the engine of a stationary train at platform number 3, they added.
Despite bystanders raising an alarm, the man reached the top and touched the 25,000-volt overhead electric line. Within seconds, a powerful electric shock triggered a loud explosion, and he fell back onto the engine and later died.
"Authorities have begun an investigation into the incident to determine whether it was an act of desperation or mischief. CCTV footage is being reviewed and efforts are on to identify the deceased, who looked around 30-35 years of age, and inform his family," said SHO, GRP, Dharamveer Singh....
