Man survives 25,000 KV 'live wire' swing
PRAYAGRAJ, June 19 -- A man, believed to be mentally unstable, climbed onto a 25000 KV overhead wire on platform number seven of Prayagraj Junction on June 16 and swung from it for nearly a minute before jumping onto the tracks. Fortunately, a power block was in effect at the time, preventing a tragedy.
The man had entered through bridge number one and jumped from its shed onto the high-voltage cable. Dressed in half pants and a shirt, he was seen balancing and swinging on the wire in a 46-second video that went viral on social media.
An RPF team rushed to the spot after receiving information, but the man had fled by then. A railway employee was heard in the video calling the control room to cut power.
North Central Railway CPRO Shashikant Tripathi confirmed the incident and the ongoing search for the man....
