Prayagraj, Oct. 14 -- A 30-year-old man, Sandeep Patel, sustained burn injuries after being attacked with acid by a group of unidentified men in Rehthu village under the Utraon police station limits on Sunday night Sandeep, who works as a mason, had gone to a nearby field about 200 metres from his home to relieve himself. On his way back, five masked men reportedly attacked him. They beat him and then threw acid on his hands and stomach, causing severe burns. Due to the darkness, Sandeep could not identify the attackers. His family rushed him to a private hospital. Later, due to the seriousness of his injuries, he was referred to the district hospital, where his condition remains critical. Utraon station house officer (SHO) Pritam Kumar Tiwari visited the scene and questioned the victim's family. He stated that no official complaint had been lodged yet, and the family had not provided any clear reason for the attack. He added that the police are also looking into the possibility of involvement from known individuals....
