man shoots self after police confrontation
Dehradun, Sept. 15 -- A 36-year-old man wanted in multiple criminal cases in Haryana allegedly shot himself after being cornered by police near a relative's house in Dehradun on Sunday, police said, adding that the man injured an officer of the Haryana police in Haridwar a day earlier.
The accused, Sunil Kapoor, originally from Jind, Haryana, opened fire on sub-inspector Surendra of Haryana police near Haridwar bus stand on September 13, police said, adding that a case was registered against him after the incident.
