Man sends son away, files fake abduction case in Pratapgarh
PRATAPGARH, July 20 -- A resident of Manapur village, under Aspur Devsara police station limits in Pratapgarh, has been booked for disturbing peace after he allegedly lodged a false complaint of his son's abduction to implicate two fellow villagers.
Police said Kedarnath, the complainant, had accused Sandeep Singh and Anil Singh, both residents of the same village, of assaulting his 12-year-old son, Vikas Gautam, on July 15 for grazing goats in their farmland. He also claimed that the child fled the village in fear and later alleged that the accused came to his house and issued threats to vacate the premises. Following the complaint, local police launched an investigation and traced the boy. Upon questioning, it was revealed that the boy had not been abducted but was sent away to a relative's home by Kedarnath himself. Further inquiries showed the child was moved to another relative's place to avoid detection....
