PRAYAGRAJ, June 12 -- Body of a 40-year-old man was found near an under-construction bridge on the Ram Van Gaman Marg being built to connect Ayodhya to Chitrakoot, on Wednesday. An attempt was also made to hide the identity of the man by pouring some acidic chemical on the face. The deceased could not be identified and the police were probing the murder. As per reports, Ram Van Gaman Marg passes through Palhana village under Sandipan Ghat police station area. A bridge is being constructed on the road in the village limits. On Wednesday morning, passersby noticed the body of a man lying near the bridge. The face was burnt by pouring some flammable substance on it. On receiving information, CO (Chail) Awadhesh Vishwakarma and SHO of Sandipan Ghat police station Vijendra Singh reached the spot and after preliminary investigation sent the body for postmortem. Vishwakarma said that the body appeared to be about four to five days old as it was emitting a foul smell. The stomach had also burst open after it swelled owing to formation of gas during decaying. Prima facie, it seemed to be a case of murder. He further stated that there was a possibility of pouring flammable liquid on the stomach as well. Presently, an accidental death report has been registered on the complaint of the watchman of the construction site. SHO Sandipan Ghat police station Vijendra Singh said that information about missing people had been sought from all the police stations of Kaushambi as well as Prayagraj zone. The photo of the body has also been sent to all police stations. Efforts are being made to identify the body by pasting the posters in public places and circulating it on social media....
