Man posing as TB patient flees with jewellery from Lko shop
Lucknow, May 9 -- A jeweller in Lucknow's Gomti Nagar Extension area was allegedly duped by a man who posed as a tuberculosis patient and fled with gold jewellery after gaining the trader's trust over three days, police said.
The incident took place at Manglam Jewellery shop located in Vikas Khand area, where trader Munna Kumar, a resident of Chhota Bharwara near Bhola Chauraha, runs his business.
According to the jeweller, the accused had first contacted him over phone claiming that he wanted to exchange broken earrings and a locket belonging to his wife. Although the trader asked him to visit the next day, the youth arrived at the shop the same evening.
Munna Kumar said the man continued visiting the shop for the next three days. He reportedly wore a mask during every visit. When asked to remove the mask, the accused allegedly claimed that he was a tuberculosis patient and was wearing it as a precautionary measure.
On Thursday evening around 7 pm, the accused again visited the shop. The accused suddenly snatched one locket and three pairs of earrings and fled. Gomti Nagar Extension Police Station registered a case.
