LUCKNOW, Jan. 5 -- A bold theft took place at a jewellery showroom in Lucknow's Jankipuram area on Sunday morning, when a man pretending to be a customer escaped with two boxes holding 24 gold rings. The incident took place around 10:20 am. As per the shop owner, a man arrived on a motorcycle and requested to see gold rings. Posing as a genuine customer, he asked the jeweller to display several designs. According to the CCTV footage and the complaint, the jeweller placed several ring boxes on the counter. The accused then asked to see more designs. When the jeweller went into an inner room to bring additional boxes, the man seized the opportunity. He rose from his chair, opened and inspected two boxes kept on the counter-both containing small and large gold rings-and quickly fled the shop with one box in each hand. Moments later, when the jeweller returned from the inner room, he realised a theft had taken place. By that time, the accused had already fled the scene. The police were informed immediately, and a team from Jankipuram police station arrived at the spot to begin an investigation. CCTV footage from the showroom and nearby establishments is being scrutinised to identify and track the suspect. Station house officer (SHO) Vinod Tiwari of Jankipuram police station said the accused is being traced with the help of CCTV cameras installed in the surrounding areas. "Efforts are underway to identify the suspect and track his movements. He will be arrested soon," he said....
